Alma Doye Jones
Henderson: Alma Doye Robertson Jones, age 87, died Saturday morning, December 26th at Henderson Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
Mrs. Jones was born and reared in Henderson County, the daughter of the late Oscar Pafford and Bessie Mae Webb Robertson. She attended schools in Henderson County. She married Buford C. Jones in 1950 and they made their home at Jacks Creek most of their married life. She worked in food service at the cafeteria at Freed-Hardeman for 18 years.
She loved gardening, quilting, and fishing. She was a member of the Jacks Creek Community Club and was also a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and also attended Union Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son Lloyd Jones and wife Allison of Lexington, three daughters Sandra Moody and husband Tyle of Jackson, Janice Holland and husband Gary of Bethel Springs and Freda Hopkins of Henderson, two brothers; Wilbur Robertson of Henderson and Willard Robertson of Lexington, two sisters; Lorece Lee of Henderson and Mae Helen Pickett of Henderson, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Lloyd Robertson and her husband Buford C. Jones in 2000.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Monday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Bro. Donald Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Hare Cemetery near Lexington.
The family will receive friends at Shackelford – Casey Chapel beginning at 5:00 PM Sunday.
