Alma Elizabeth Taylor was born on December 26, 1940 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the daughter of the late Henderson Wallace Shook and Myrtle Slay Scott.
On May 19, 1960, she was united in marriage to Jimmy Taylor, who preceded his wife in death on July 26, 2002.
Mrs. Taylor worked several factory jobs and was a cosmetologist at Frankie's Cut-N-Style. In her spare time, she liked playing the card game, Hearts. She enjoyed making quilts with her mother and loved baking cakes. She loved her family with all her heart. Alma loved spending most, if not all, of her time with her late husband, Jimmy, and the most important person in her life, her son Brent. She loved being a mother to him and devoted her life to being his mom. She was an amazing friend to many and touched many hearts with her kindness and presence. Alma was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee.
Alma Elizabeth Taylor departed this life on Friday, October 10, 2025 in Savannah, Tennessee, at the age of 84 years, 9 months, and 14 days.
She is survived by her son, Brent Taylor of Savannah, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alma was preceded in death by her sister, Gloria May Shook Bowen.
