Almalee Kirk Redding

November 28, 1919 — December 24, 2015

Almalee Junell Kirk Redding was born on November 28, 1919 in Henderson County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Thomas Joseph and Mary Jane Rice Kirk. On October 13, 1945, she was united in marriage to John C. Redding, who preceded his wife in death on August 9, 1994.

Almalee lived in Sardis, Tennessee all of her life and was a member of Sardis United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was employed by the Henderson County School System as well as being a housewife. She loved working in her garden, playing the piano, and singing in church.

Mrs. Redding departed this life on December 24, 2015 in Decatur County, Tennessee at the age of 96 years, 26 days.

She is survived by two children, Alma Joyce Redding Mitchell and Lanny C. Redding, and his wife Linda Gail, all of Sardis, Tennessee; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and 2 special friends, Faye Millner of Scotts Hill, Tennessee and Rhoda Barr of Sardis, Tennessee.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Kirk, and a sister, Marybelle Kirk Tapp.
