Alta Mae Brysonwas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on November 6, 1919 the daughter of the late Joseph (Judge) Sylvester and Ethel Margaret Brown Gattis.Mrs. Bryson had worked for Brown Shoe Company for 37 years. She enjoyed her family, working and being on the river.Mrs. Bryson departed this life on Sunday, March 20, 2011 at the age of 91 years, 4 months, 14 days.She is survived by a son, Jimmy Eugene Alexander of Millsboro, Delaware; 2 brothers, James Harry Gattis of Savannah, Tennessee and Charles Wayne Gattis of Crump, Tennessee; 10 grandchildren, Tony Alexander, Mike Alexander, David Alexander, Melinda Alexander, James Alexander, John Alexander, Kim Moffett Manns, Vicky Bailey, Shane Alexander, and Nicholas Alexander; 13 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Hardy Franklin Alexander in 1951, her 2nd husband, Clyde Van Bryson in 1975; a daughter, Leonda Rose Moffett; 2 sons, Gale Patrick Alexander and Larry Page (Jim) Alexander; 4 sisters, Millie Pauline Hardin-Linville, Katherine Fay Phillips, Patricia Ann Hill and infant, Rose Loraine Gattis; 3 brothers, William Sherril Gattis, Carl Ray Gattis and Billie Gene Gattis; a grandchild, Timothy Eugene Moffett.
