Mr. Stanford passed away Tuesday morning at St. Francis Hospital of Bartlett.
The widower of Ola Maxine Stanford, who died May 12, 2002, he retired as a security officer at Bellevue Woods Apartments in Memphis. Mr. Stanford was born March 19, 1927 in Hamilton, TX to the late Jack Stanford and Hilma Coston Stanford. He lived in Memphis from 1961 to 1996 before moving to Grand Valley Lakes in April 1996. He served his country in the US Army Air Force during World War II as a corporal in the 414th air service group. Mr. Stanford was a bass fisherman and Baptist in belief.
He is survived by a daughter, Annette Moore of Memphis; three grandchildren, Richard Moore, Jeana and Bret Stanford; and 6 great grandchildren. In addition to his wife, whom he married November 30, 1946 and his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Billy Ed Stanford; and a brother, Vernon Stanford, who was killed in World War II.
