Ancil Mack Morris departed this life on Sunday, August 23, 2015, at the age of 97 years, 2 months and 1 day. He was born in Lutts, Tennessee on June 22, 1918, the son of the late Walter and Effie Steely Morris. On November 24, 1946, he was united in marriage to Inez McFall, who preceded him in death on November 13, 2008.
Ancil was a lifelong farmer, a veteran of the US Army and a member of the Whites Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his son, Jerry Glen Morris of Savannah, Tennessee; daughter, Judy Kay Morris of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Jennifer Bosworth, Kevin Morris, Natalie Spears, Julia Hammond, Kari Morris, and Jim Morris; great grandchildren, Mollie Bosworth, Jacob Bosworth, Grace Bosworth, Matthew Spears, Michael Spears, Caleb Hammond, Ella Hammond, Stella Bosworth, Kamden Morris, Isabel Hammond, Natalie Hammond, and Klayton Morris; brother, Boyd Morris of Savannah, Tennessee; sisters, Virginia Smith of Savannah, Tennessee and Willodean King of Lexington, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Lynn Morris, Sr.; sisters, Oakley Weston, Estoile Morris, and an infant sister; brothers, Johnny Morris, Earl Morris, Floyd Morris, Roy Morris, and Coy Morris.
