Ann Ellis

Mary Ann Ellis was born January 2, 1939 in Ramer, TN, the daughter of the late C. G. "Bill" Washburn and Mary Lee Walker Washburn.

Ann was united in marriage to Charles E. Ellis on June 15, 1956. Their bond was a true testament of love until his passing on February 1, 2012.

Ann dedicated her life to her faith as a cherished member of the Baptist Church from her earliest days. Her unwavering spirit and kindness were evident in every aspect of her life, especially during her remarkable 25 plus year tenure as the Cafeteria Manager at McNairy Central High School. She found joy in reuniting with her students after their graduation, celebrating their journeys and accomplishments.

An extraordinary cook, Ann devoted her culinary talents to her family, friends, and community. Whether it was a family gathering, church function, or simply providing a meal for those in need, her kitchen was always a place filled with love and warmth.

Ann’s legacy of compassion and generosity will forever be remembered and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Ellis Aristorenas and husband Juan T., MD of Adamsville, TN; two grandchildren, Ashley Woodall and husband Sean of Clarksville, TN, Brittany Ann Wilbur of Nashville, TN; four great grandchildren: Annabelle Elizabeth Woodall, Austin Woodall, Allyson K. Woodall, Alivia Woodall; sister-in-law, Jan Washburn; nieces and nephew: Leanne Floyd, Samantha Bonds, and Kevin Teague.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mary was preceded in death by a sister, Billie Teague and husband Troy; a brother, James Donnie Washburn; nephew, Clint Washburn; and her beloved dog "Sassy".
