Ann Duren Freeland, born on July 2, 1929, in Adamsville, TN, to the late Charlie H. Duren and Ruth Parker Duren.
She was united in marriage to O.H. "Shorty" Freeland on June 26, 1949. Mr. Freeland preceded her in death on December 30, 2014.
Together they had three children and several grands and great grands. Ann loved when all of her family was home as she would prepare lots of wonderful food to go along with the lively card games, family golfing, and friendly games of pool.
Ann's unwavering faith was reflected in her lifelong membership at The First United Methodist Church in Adamsville where she served as treasurer for 17 years, helped with various Vacation Bible School summers, and prepared meals for bereaved families.
Known for her warm heart and generous spirit, Ann found joy in simple pleasures like baking for loved ones and friends in need. She loved hosting her Bridge Club, nurturing her garden, and passionately cheering on Tennessee sports - always supporting her beloved Vols!
On February 18, 2024, at the age of 94 Years, 7 Months, and 16 Days, Mrs. Freeland peacefully passed away in Franklin, TN. She is fondly remembered by her surviving children: Terri Wood (Bob) of Mobile, AL; Jana Davis (Tim) of Topeka, KS; Rev. Ted Freeland (Sherry) of Spring Hill, TN; grandchildren: Jill Talbert (Daniel) of Nashville, TN, Brian Wood of Lee's Summit, MO; Laura Dilworth (Evan) of Knoxville, TN; Barrett Davis of West Lafayette, IN; Parker Davis of Philadelphia, PA; Grayson Davis of Blacksburg, VA; four great-grandchildren: Audrey and Foster Talbert; Bennett and Kate Dilworth.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Fountains of Franklin and Accent Care Hospice for their dedicated support. Ann will forever be cherished and remembered for her kindness and love that she shared abundantly with everyone around her.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church of Adamsville, TN.
