Henderson, TN: Ann Bishop Newman age 78 passed away October 16, 2018 at the Henderson Health & Rehabilitation Center.
She was born September 18, 1940 in Henderson County, the daughter of the late D. R. and Zula Mae Lewis Bishop. She attended school in Chester County and was employed at Chester County Sportswear for several years prior to working at Salant & Salant Mfg. where she served as financial secretary for the union and later worked at I-Appel in Henderson. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson.
Mrs. Newman is survived by a daughter, Teresa Walker (Richard) of Henderson; three grandchildren, Dusty Walker (Shannon), Kyle Walker (Brittney) and Asthyn Young (Dillon); two great grandchildren, Trey Young and Jacob Young and one on the way; two sisters, Genia McCann of Horn Lake, MS and Imogene Naylor of Finger, TN; four brothers, Jerry Mack Bishop of Chandler, AZ, Ray Bishop of Henderson, Dennis Wayne Bishop of Chandler, AZ and Danny Bishop of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Melinda Newman in 1979 and two brothers, Gerald Bishop and Larry Bishop and a sister, Gloria May.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Main Street Chapel with Iran Smith and Glenn Harris officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Main Street Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday.
