Mrs. Ellis died peacefully in her home on Saturday morning, May 25, 2019. She had lived on the lake with her beloved husband for thirty-four years.
Mrs. Ellis was born November 29, 1930, in Grant County, Indiana, the daughter of the late Nicholas Andrew and Mamie S. Cassidy. Anna Lee grew up on a farm in Marion, Indiana with her four siblings. She graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School in 1948 and married William C. Ellis, Jr. the same year in Marion. They were married for seventy years. Their life in the US Navy allowed them to see most of the United States. They settled in Memphis, TN following retirement from the Navy in 1977. They moved to Roger Springs Lake in 1984.
Anna Lee was the devoted and loving wife of William C. Ellis, Jr.; loving mother to Paul Vincent, Stephen Anthony (deceased), and David Francis; proud grandmother of Christina, Jennifer, Lori, Megan, Brian and Andrew; proud great-grandmother of Cassidy, Allison, William, Isabella, Gianna, Gabriel, Lilianna, Avery, Grayson and Riley.
She was a strong woman of faith and a parishioner of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bolivar, TN. She loved celebrating holidays and spending time with her family at the lake. She enjoyed painting, reading and time with friends. She was a loving, kind and generous woman with a wonderful sense of humor. She always did her best to make others happy.
Relatives and friends are invited to the visitation and recitation of the rosary at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 223 Mecklinburg Drive, Bolivar, TN on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 10:00 am and her Funeral Mass on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Anna Lee's memory can be sent to St. Mary's Catholic Church or your favorite charity.
