Anna Ruth Dixon Gobbell of Collinwood, TN was born December 10, 1934 in Collinwood, TN, the daughter of the late John Otis and Myrtle Grace Brison Dixon. She was united in marriage to Martin Carmack Gobbell on November 27, 1957 and he preceded her in death on October 9, 2012.
Mrs. Gobbell was a homemaker but had worked at Trace Manufacturing and she enjoyed baking fresh bread for family and friends. She was a member of the Millrock Freewill Baptist Church in Collinwood, Tennessee.
Mrs. Gobbell departed this life on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Glenwood Healthcare in Florence, Alabama at the age of 79 Years, 6 Months, 19 Days.
She is survived by sons, Timothy Mack Gobbell, John Mark Gobbell and wife, Sherry and Phillip Dixon Gobbell and wife, Kristi all of Collinwood, TN; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Davis and husband, Bennie of Hohenwald, TN; grandchildren, Jason Gobbell and wife, Melissa, Matthew Gobbell, Kassie Henderson and husband, Dustin, Jessica Dodd, Jill Gobbell, Shelly Butler and husband, Cale, Zoiee Gobbell, Sophie Gobbell, Kebrina Davis and Dakota Davis; great-grandchildren, Jayda, Jaylee, Jagger and Jett Dodd, Kyler Haddock, Hannah and Morgan Henderson and Tristian Gobbell; brothers, Paul O. Dixon and wife, Donna of Collinwood, TN, James Lee Dixon of Florence, AL; sisters, Becky Dixon, Von Dixon, Frances Turnbow and husband, Pete, and Lela Kephart and husband, Rickey all of Collinwood, TN, Jane Cox and husband, Jimmy of Florence, AL, and Dean Howard and husband, Milford of Chattanooga, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Gobbell was preceded in death by a son, Martin Keith Gobbell; a brother, John Edgar Dixon.
Services will be Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at 1:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Collinwood, Tennessee, with Tim Hanback officiating. Burial will follow in the Shawnettee Memory Gardens, Collinwood, Tennessee
with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Pallbearers will be Jason Gobbell, Matthew Gobbell, Dakota Davis, Jonathan Kephart, Jimmy Turnbow, and Steven Turnbow. Honorary pallbearers will be Bennie Davis,Steven Vickery, Blake Gobbell, Brian Gobbell, Mike Gower, Cale Butler and Dustin Henderson.
