Anna Mae Wright

Mrs. Wright passed from this life Monday afternoon, June 24, 2013, in Brownsville, Tennessee at the age of 88 years, 10 months and 5 days.



Born August 19, 1924 in Clinton, Kentucky to James Alfred and Bertha Mae Peek Featherston, she was a former City Recorder for the City of Whiteville. She married Charles Quinton Wright July 31, 1949; they were married more than 50 years until his passing December 5, 1999. Mrs. Wright was a graduate of Mrs. Wylie's Secretarial School in Memphis, and lived all her married life in Whiteville. She worked 23 years for the City of Whiteville, 9 years at the Bank of Whiteville and 6 years for the Tennessee Valley Electric Supply. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Whiteville since 1950.



Survivors include a cousin, Betty Shelbourne of Cunningham, KY; nieces and nephews; 2 sisters-in-law, Bernene Wright of Whiteville and Wayne Warren of Brownsville; and her caregiver, Linda Graber. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
