Anne Perry Stamps

February 27, 1939 — January 2, 2026

Born and raised in Memphis, Anne's story began at St. Mary's Episcopal and East High School (1957), and continued to the Memphis College of Arts, nurturing her early visual artist talents. She pursued banking, a family tradition, after starting her own family, but her creative spirit eventually led her to explore other ventures. Her passion for cooking and entertaining blossomed into a seven-year Bed & Breakfast business, complete with a local food column and ownership of two inns and a country store. Over the years, her journeys took her from the peaks of East Tennessee to the sands of Pensacola, Florida. All the while, her art flourished, culminating in her full dedication to her brand, The Anne Beverley Collection. Anne's influence extended across the South as an executive art council board member, and her licensed designs appear nationally on CoasterStone Products.

Anne loved sharing her gift of creativity, she loved the thought of inspiring others to look at the world more closely, to see the beauty and the potential for transformation around them. She believed transformation was simply a matter of deciding “to begin”; whether it was turning a blank canvas into a picturesque landscape, a guest room into a welcoming sanctuary, or a poetic thought into sentimentality or humor. Ultimately, she understood that the world is what you make it and shared that story through her unique mediums.

Anne is preceded by John E Stamps Jr. (d.) and by her father and mother, Ashby Patteson and Ursula Byrd Beverley Perry.

She is survived by her son, John E. Stamps, III (Kathy); daughter, Anne Welby Stamps; sister, Katherine “Kitty” Taylor; grandson, Thomas Stamps; and granddaughter, Brooke Stamps.
