Annette Blalock, a beloved homemaker and dedicated member of her community, passed away on December 21, 2025, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee. Born on October 2, 1951, in Memphis, she was a woman who wore many hats throughout her life, working tirelessly on the family farm alongside her husband, Robert, and contributing her efforts in several factories.
Annette's life was defined not just by her work, but by her love for dance and joyous spirit. Every Friday night, she could be found dancing at the square in Bolivar, her laughter echoing through the night as she shared her passion for movement with friends and family. Her enthusiasm for life shone brightly, and she cherished each precious moment spent with her grandbabies, who were the center of her world.
Having called Byhalia and Waterford, Mississippi, home before settling in Bolivar in 1989, Annette embraced her role in the Trinity Baptist Church, where she made lasting connections and was a pillar of support for those around her. To her family, she was known as the "heart of the family," nurturing them with unconditional love and a warm spirit that will forever be remembered.
Annette is survived by her loving daughters, Loretta Baker of Bolivar and Christy Harris and her husband, Albert of Waterford, MS; her son, Garry Culver and his wife, Angie of Myrtle, MS; and her sister, Deborah Bell of Byhalia, MS. She is also mourned by her cherished grandchildren: Dustin (Diandra) and Corey (Teresa) Culver, Brandon Harris, Courtney Simmons (Joshua), Kenneth Baker (Jessica), and Kristen Harris. The joy of Annette's life was further enriched by her great-grandchildren: Alani, Brooklyn, Brantley, Everleigh, Jaivan, Janaya, Jelani, Ashtyn, and her great-grandchild Jahleel, who is on the way. Additionally, her memory will live on in the hearts of several nieces and nephews.
Annette was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Blalock; her father, Harold Edward Bell; her mother, Blondine Toole Bell; her brothers, David and Billy Bell; and a great-grandchild. The loss of Annette leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew and loved her, but her legacy of kindness, joy, and devotion will forever inspire them.
Visitation will be held on December 26, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Trinity Baptist Church, located at 1210 Tate Road, Bolivar, TN. The funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM, with interment at Middleburg Cemetery.
As we gather to honor the life of Annette Blalock, we celebrate a remarkable woman whose love touched many lives and whose spirit will always remain in our hearts. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to Trinity Baptist Church.
