Annette G. Ray of Lawrenceburg, TN was born June 1, 1937 in Dora, AL, the daughter of the late Vester and Ruth Browning Gilbreath. She was united in marriage to Roy Mack Ray and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2001.
Mrs. Ray was a homemaker and a member of the Zion Baptist Church and departed this life on Monday, August 23, 2021 at Waynesboro Health and Rehab in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 2 Months, 22 Days. She enjoyed singing, gardening, cooking, canning, playing basketball and corn hole and always talked about her time as a telephone operator.
She is survived by a son, Jason Ray and wife, Aundra of Lawrenceburg, TN; grandchildren, Hillary Cope, husband, Brady, Boston Ray, wife, Erin and Sawyer Ray, wife, Chaley; great-grandchildren, Cutler Mack Ray (her ray of sunshine in her latter years) and Easton Cain Ray; sisters, Patricia Hodges, Faye Box and Linda Robinson all of Dora, AL and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Ray was preceded in death by brothers, Sylvester, William, Alvin and Robert Gilbreath and sisters, Bessie Mae Salter, Ila Dean Woods, Betty Joyce Traywick and Mary L. Rogers.
Due to the surge of Covid, the family has elected to have a private service with Danny Huckaba and Chad Clanton officiating. Burial will follow in Gallaher Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting.
Pallbearers will be Michael Box, David Box, Keith Gilbreath, Larry Lemley, Steve Keaton and Gary Salter.
