Mrs. Henderson passed away Saturday morning at Pine Meadows Healthcare Center.
The widow of L. G. Henderson, who died Dec. 26, 1976, she was a homemaker and co-owner with her husband of Henderson's Dairy Bar and Cafe and Henderson's Grocery. She was born to Frederick and Roma Ellen Farris Rixie and came to Pocahontas in a covered wagon in 1916 from Illinois. After she married, she and her husband lived in Atlanta and Memphis prior to moving back to Middleton. She was a member of Middleton Pentecostal Church and former member at Gentry Chapel Holiness Church where she served as church secretary for 27 years, was active in the Ladies Auxillary, was a Sunday School teacher, peanut brittle maker and did anything else that needed doing.
Survivors include three daughters, Dorris Medlin of Annandale, Va., Annie Pearl Orman and Bonnie H. Callahan, both of Middleton; two sons, Bobby Henderson, Sr. of Bolivar and Vernon Henderson of Middleton; 13 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 4 sisters and 9 brothers.
