ANNIE HINTON
was born in Cartersville, Georgia on March 28, 1934 the daughter of the late Charlie Lee and Mary Ella Parker Tidwell.
On July 2, 1955 she was united in marriage to Gordon L. Hinton, who survives.
Annie was retired from the Hardin County School District where she served as a cook for several years. She was also actively involved with the Walnut Grove Volunteer Fire Department, and was a member of Second Creek Church of Christ. Annie loved her family and all her grandchildren and she loved helping people.
She departed this life on October 3, 2012 in Florence, Alabama at the age of 78 years, 6 months and 5 days.
Annie is survived by her loving husband of fifty-seven years, Gordon Lindsey Hinton of Savannah, Tennessee, and their four children: David Hinton, Sr. and his wife Mevaline of Florence, Alabama; Larry Hinton and his wife Cindy of Lutts, Tennessee; Anthony Hinton and his wife Rita of Collinwood, Tennessee and Shelia VanFleet and her husband Troy of Savannah, Tennessee. Annie had ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her four sisters, Cliffie Owens, Francis Tidwell, Ella Samson, Reba Cordell and her husband Marvin, and one brother Gordon Tidwell and his wife Joan, one brother-in-law Glenn Worley, and one sister-in-law Patricia Tidwell, all of Cartersville, Georgia. Annie is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Jasper Isaiah Tidwell, one sister Mamie Elizabeth Worley and daughter-in-law, Tina Lynn Williams Hinton. Annie was also preceded in death by her best friend of many years, Margaret Louise Daily Gean.
