Annie Lea Owens Lax departed to her heavenly home on Friday, November 4, 2011 at UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN. She was 102.

Annie Lea found Jesus as her Saviour at a young age and served him faithfully until her death. She was a member of Middleburg Baptist Church for 93 years where she served as a Sunday school teacher, WMU worker and fed many preachers on different occasions. After her husband's death she ran Lax's Old Country Store in Middleburg. She sold rag bologna, Hoop cheese, and possum sardines. Many knew her by her Spunky personality and red hair. Annie Lea loved her family very much and spent much time with them whether it was through traveling or just sitting with them and having a good laugh. She loved to cook and her family enjoyed a delicious meal each Sunday after church. Annie Lea Lax, or (Maw), as she was known to her family, will forever be missed. Her red flame may have gone out on earth but it shines brightly above in heaven.
