Annie Mae Graham Meeks departed her life here on Sunday, December 27, 2009. She passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.
She was born September 5, 1926 to the late Johnnie H. and Ruby Munn Graham of Middleton. Annie Mae was a resident of Middleton most of her life and was a 1946 graduate of Middleton High School. A "devoted" Christian wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she was noted for her famous fried pies among many other attributes. She was a dedicated member of New Salem Primitive Baptist Church since 1950.
She leaves her husband, Leo Meeks, whom she married on December 28, 1946; four daughters, Delores Thurmond and husband, James, of Middleton, Brenda White (husband, Ray, deceased) of Enville, Kathy Turner and husband, Donnie, of Middleton, Carol Berryman and husband, Terry, of Middleton; one aunt, Manola Rowland of Middleton; eight grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Darwin and Howard Eugene Graham.
