Artie Mae Jarrett Surratt was born on December 20, 1913, in Morris Chapel, Tennessee, the daughter of John Silas Jarrett and Neva White Jarrett. She was united in marriage to Buford Edmond Surratt on December 11, 1937. Mr. Surratt preceded her in death on October 12, 2005. Mrs. Surratt was a former school teacher and beautician and was retired from Garan Sportswear in Adamsville. She was a member of Adamsville First Christian Church and was a former Hospital Auxillary and RSVP Volunteer.Survivors are three daughters, Linda Foster of Memphis, Jane Taylor of Adamsville, and Jo Parker of Hendersonville, Tennessee; six grandchildren, Mark Foster, Marty Foster, Heath Taylor, Jana Mauldin, Ryne Sexton, and Paige Sexton; seven great-grandchildren; two step great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Carl Johnson. A host of other relatives and friends.Other than her parents, Mrs. Surratt was also preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Johnson, a brother, James Jarrett, and two grandchildren, Jerry Foster and Paul Foster.
