She was born in Hardin County near Bath Springs, the daughter of the late Leonard Andrew and Mazzie Flatt. She attended schools at Bath Springs and married Lester Lee Mooney in 1936. They lived all of their married life in the Cabo Community of Chester County. Mr. Mooney farmed and worked for the Division of Forestry at the Pinson Nursery. Mr. Mooney died in 2001.She is survived by a son, Jessie Dean Mooney of Enville; 7 brothers, Thomas Albert Flatt of Parsons, Roy Edward Flatt of Jackson, James Ray Flatt of Jackson, Lee Flatt of Bethel Springs, Glynn Flatt of Bethel Springs, Robert Earl Flatt of Henderson and Johnny Flatt of Bethel Springs and 5 sisters, Lillian Mae Hatch of Bethel Springs, Maudie Britt of Sardis, Betty Johnson of Selmer, Dee Vandiver of Bolivar and Sue Rowland of Bethel Springs and 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Lee Mooney in 2001 and a son, Junior Lee Mooney in 2004.
