Barbara Austin

Barbara Austin departed this life on Thursday, November 15, 2018, at the age of 78 years, 9 months, and 19 days. She was born in Savannah, Tennessee the daughter of the late Arvie and Mary Fox Benson. She was united in marriage to Floyd Jr. Austin, who preceded her in death on February 26, 1995.

Barbara lived in the Walnut Grove Community for most of her life. She had been a cook and waitress at restaurants and cafes, and had also worked at Brown Shoe Company. Barbara enjoyed visits from family and friends, playing cards, and cooking.

Barbara is survived by her children, Richard Allen Hutton and Shirley Lagail Mace, both of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchild, Dalton Ray White; great grandchildren, Hunter Reaves, Amara Reaves, and Ayla White; and brothers, Otha Ray Benson and Buford Lane Benson, both of Savannah, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was preceded in death by her grandson, James Allen White; brothers, Kermit Benson, Billy Benson, and Carlton Benson; and sisters, Arvella Morris, Helen Williams, Robbie Smith, Phyllis Warren, Dottie Warren, and a set of twins.
