Barbara Sue Gardner Bright was born July 23, 1946 in Selmer, TN, the daughter of the late Elmer D. Gardner and Loneda Rickman Gardner. Barbara was united in marriage to the love of her life, Junior Allen Jinkens Bright on April 22, 1967. Mr. Bright preceded her in death on November 8, 2020.
Barbara showed her caring nature through her work in healthcare, serving as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Maple Hill Nursing Home and McNairy County Healthcare. Her compassionate heart led her to a role as an OB Technician at McNairy County General Hospital for about 10 years, where she provided support and comfort to many families during one of the most significant moments of their lives. Additionally, she worked at the McNairy County Justice Center in housekeeping before retiring.
Barbara enjoyed camping and being a caretaker for others. She loved working in the nursing home and at the assisted living. She took care of numerous family members, including her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other children who needed a babysitter. She loved them all. She rocked many babies and sang "Jesus Loves Me" to them.
Barbara's legacy is one of love, faith, and dedication—a true example of selflessness and service to others. She will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
