She was surrounded by her loving family. Barbara's life was characterized by her kindness, hard work, and unwavering devotion to her loved ones.

Born on December 8, 1945, in Bolivar, Tennessee, Barbara was the daughter of John Alyn Owens and Annie Mae Sain Owens. From an early age, Barbara exhibited a passion for creating a warm and welcoming home. Her talents extended beyond homemaking as she also worked several years at the Hardeman County Election Commission. Additionally, she had brief stints at Overton Florist and the local Co-Op. These experiences allowed her to connect with others in her community and demonstrated her commitment to serving others.  She was also active locally in the Beta Sigma Phi organization which was very important to her.

Barbara's creativity knew no bounds. She had a talent for painting with oils and her excellent Christmas cookies were eagerly anticipated by friends and family each year. Barbara found great joy in sharing these talents with those around her.

In addition to her creative pursuits, Barbara had a deep love for reading and traveling. Exploring new places through books and embarking on journeys allowed her to broaden her horizons and appreciate the world's wonders. However, nothing brought Barbara more happiness than being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Their presence lit up her world, filling it with laughter and love.

Barbara found solace in her faith as a member of Bolivar First Baptist Church. She also attended Dixie Hills Baptist Church, where she forged deep connections with fellow worshippers. Her faith provided comfort during times of adversity and inspired those around her to lead lives filled with compassion.

Those left behind to cherish Barbara's memory include her beloved husband of many years, Billy Byrum; their daughter, Dianna Garrett, and her husband Alan of Bolivar; their son, Alyn Byrum of Bolivar; and her grandchildren including Robin Sullivan (Justin), Jason Garrett, Nathan Byrum, Anna Lyn McDaniel (Garrett), Shea Byrum, and great grandchildren, Owen Sullivan, Luke Sullivan, Maeson Sullivan, Claire McDaniel, and Sam McDaniel.
