Barbara Plunk Robinson was born February 15, 1937 in Camden, TN the daughter of the late Frank and Myrtle Barber Plunk. The youngest of the seven Plunk children, she was known affectionately as Barb by her own children and numerous nieces and nephews. Once her parents passed away, it was she who hosted countless gatherings and reunions for her siblings and their offspring, filled with love and laughter for all involved.
A graduate of Bethel Springs High School in the class of 1954, Barb dedicated over two decades to serving as a rural mail carrier. A quintessential hostess known for her Southern charm shone through as she entertained family and friends with delicious meals on elegantly set tables adorned with garden-fresh flowers and delicate linens. A lady who was also known for her handwritten notes and heartfelt sentiments to loved ones, Barb's passion for music, painting, and decorating added layers of beauty to her life. She was a lifelong member of Bethel Springs Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder and played the piano.
On March 31, 2024, at the age of 87 years, 1 month, and 16 days, Mrs. Robinson departed this world. She leaves behind a legacy of love carried on by her children: John Nathan Robinson, Julie Plunk Westmoreland (and husband Fred), Adam Wayne Robinson (and wife Ina Rochelle); five grandchildren: Toby Reeves, Alex Reeves, Abby Westmoreland, Anna Robinson, Erin Robinson; and a great-granddaughter, Avery Kate Reeves; cherished as the favorite aunt to a great host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Moore Robinson; three sisters, Helen (Wootsie) Summers, Janis Paul, and Bernice Banks; three brothers, Leonard, Porter, and Gerald Plunk.
Barb lived and shared her life with style and flair, instilling in her family a deep and abiding love for their history and heritage, their oft-told tales, their traditions, their faith and their common bond. She will remain a joyful blessing for everyone who knew and loved her.
