Barbara Jean Sipes

Mrs. Sipes passed away Saturday, August 8, 2015 at her home near Bolivar.

A native and life-long resident of Hardeman County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Thaxter and Pearl Webster Stewart. On July 9, 1965, she was united in marriage to Boyd Earl Sipes. Mr. Sipes died June 29, 2010. Mrs. Sipes was a homemaker and member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church near Whiteville. She also had worked at Brown Shoe Co. in Selmer and Jervis Corp. in Bolivar. She enjoyed the outdoors, crocheting, flowers and feeding hummingbirds. She especially enjoyed spending time with and loved her grandchildren. She leaves behind her beloved pet dog, "CJ", of whom she was quite protective.

Her surviving relatives include: her daughter, Tracy (Steve) Bryant of Bolivar; her son, Scotty (Amanda) Sipes of Bolivar; five sisters, Jeanette Gladish and Rita Treadway of Henderson, and Judy Wiggins, Connie Hannis and Bonnie Sisco, all of Bolivar; three brothers, Bobby Stewart (her twin) of Middleton; Kenneth Stewart of Bolivar and Jerry Stewart of Pinson; five grandchildren, Cody (Emma), Austin, Kyle and Tori Sipes and Justin Bryant; and her brother-in-law, Lloyd Sipes.
