Beatrice Caperton Evans of Waynesboro, TN was born March 8, 1924 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late John L. and Tenny Violet Gambrel Caperton. She was united in marriage to James Lewis Evans, Jr. on October 20, 1940 and he preeceded her in death on July 29, 1985.
Ms Evans was a retired seamstress at Trace manufacturing and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Waynesboro, Tennessee and she departed this life on Sunday, November 30, 2014 at her home at the age of 90 Years, 8 Months, 22 Days.
She is survived by three daughters, Sarah Evans Goodman of Waynesboro, TN, Teresa G. Odle and husband, David of Waynesboro, TN and Virginia Nell Belew and husband, Travis of Lawrenceburg, TN; 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandcholdren and 1 great-great-grandchild; a brother, Rex Caperton of Convoy, OH; five sisters, Helen Clark of Bryan, OH, Evelyn Gobbell of Waynesboro, TN, Lillis Staggs of Waynesboro, TN, Mary Sue Thompson of Decatur, IN and Sharon Clark of Ft. Wayne, IN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Ms Evans was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Jean Evans and 10 siblings.
Services will be held on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Jerry L. Robbins officiating. Burial will follow in the McGlamery Cemetery, Collinwood, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing. Pallbearers will be Randall Gobbell, Chris Dickey, Matthew Belew, Chris Odle, Austin Odle and Dale Odle.
Visitation will be Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 6 pm to 9 pm and Monday, December 1, 2014 from 8 am until service time at the funeral home.
Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be given to the family.
