Mrs. Harris passed away Thursday, September 19, 2091 at the Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born on Monday, January 16, 1928 in Middleton and was the daughter of the late Albert B. and Ethel Derryberry Bass. She lived her entire life in Hardeman County. On Sunday, July 25, 1948, she was united in marriage to Mr. Dennie Darnell Harris. Mr. Harris passed away Sunday, October 6, 1991 following 43 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Harris is preceded in death by a grandson, Clint Cardwell; a sister, Madge "Mack" Shearon; and two brothers, Buster and Vernon Bass.
A member of the Porter's Creek Baptist Church, she had been, in years past, an active volunteer at Pine Meadows Healthcare in Bolivar. In her spare time, she enjoyed her flowers, playing her mandolin and spending time with grandchildren.
Mrs. Harris is survived by two daughters, Darlene Cardwell and Ginger (Kyle) Pulse, both of Middleton; five sons, Jerry (Sandra), Mike (Janie), Tony (Margie) and Timmy Harris, all of Middleton and Dwayne Harris of Henning, TN; one sister, Evelyn Briggs of Middleton; 13 grandchildren, Scotty (Jennifer) Harris, Jason Harris, Amber (Aubrey) Foreman, Austin (Kara) Harris, Cody Harris, Lacy (Josh) Jenkins, Craig (Heather) Harris, Christopher (Tabitha) Harris, Carlee Harris, Jimmy Cardwell, Paden (Neal) Ivy, Whitley Pulse and Haley Pulse; 27 great-grandchildren, Tiffany (Dawson) Adams, Ashley (James) Hopper, Dylan Stewart, Jonathan, Lawson and Amory Foreman, Colton Devine, Cash and Libby Kate Harris, Liam and Luke Jenkins, Katie, Connor, Kenley, Kel, Halie Brooke, Chloe, Fender, Manning and Fleming Harris, Annyn Cardwell, Brayden and Will Ivy, Brantley and Kylie Pulse, and Mia Cardwell; and three great-great-grandchildren, Megan Foreman, Blayden Cook, and Walker Adams.
