Beatrice Kirk Tackett Lee was born May 23, 1925 in McNairy County, Tennessee, the daughter of Beatrice Kirk Tackett and the late Walter Bowers Tackett.
She was united in marriage to Charles William Lee on Friday, January 18, 1946.
Mrs. Lee was a homemaker, an accomplished pianist, and loved crocheting and needlepoint. During her life, she served as a Gray Lady at McNairy County General Hospital, a Cub Scout Den Mother, and was a member of the Freed Hardeman Associates. She was an avid baseball fan and in her latter years, enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves.
Mrs. Lee was a lifelong member of the Fourth Street Church of Christ in Selmer.
She departed this life on October 17, 2009 at the age of eighty-four years and four months and twenty-four days. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly sixty-four years, Charles Lee of Selmer; her mother, Beatrice Kirk Tackett of Selmer; two sons, Charles Lee Jr. and wife Carol Ann of Selmer; Robert Lee and wife Susan of Selmer; four grandchildren, Rebecca Lee Maddox and husband Casey of Mountain Brook, Alabama; Robert Kirk Lee, Jr. of Selmer; Christie Diener and husband Patrick of Nashville and William Brinkerhoff of Memphis; a great granddaughter, Carrie Ann Diener; two brothers, Walter B. Tackett and wife Jan of Selmer and Joe Tackett and wife Shirley of Selmer; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her father Walter Bowers Tackett and a brother John R. Tackett.
