Beatrice McBride Teague, 96, of Memphis, formerly of Middleton, departed this life Monday, May 27, 2019 at North Delta Hospice in Southaven, MS.
The widow of Marvin L. Teague, who passed away on August 6, 1978 after 35 years of marriage, she was a homemaker and worked in Christmas light production with General Electric in Memphis for 24 years. She was born January 31, 1923 in Middleton, daughter of the late Johnny V. McBride and Nettie Stewart McBride, moving to Memphis with her husband when he was discharged out of the service. She enjoyed gardening and working in her yard, and was well known for her 'green thumb'. Her family states that she "loved fellowship with her family and friends and worked hard for her family". Mrs. Teague always took pride in her hair and appearance, yet was humble and appreciative to others. The staff, residents and visitors of the nursing home knew she was the one to always wave and welcome them and was constantly thinking of others. She was well loved. Mrs. Teague was a faithful member of Southwind Church of Christ until it closed and most recently attended Strayhorn Baptist in Sarah, MS.
Survivors include three daughters, Patricia Morrow (Jerry) of Lake Cormorant, MS, Shelia Singletary (William) of Olive Branch, MS and Phyllis Coalson (Brett) or Austin, TX; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
