Benny Wayne McClain

Benny Wayne McClain departed this life on Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at the age of 72 years, 10 months, and 15 days. He was born in Savannah, Tennessee on September 12, 1948, the son of the late Benny and Gladys Henson McClain.

He was united in marriage to Kathy Elaine Foust on August 29, 1970. Benny Wayne was very devoted to her and when she became disabled he became her primary caretaker for 17 years until her death on August 28, 2017.

Benny Wayne served his country honorably in the United States Army for three years. He was employed Shiloh National Park as a tractor operator and retired after 27 years. He enjoyed metal detecting, coin collecting, and hunting arrowheads.

Benny Wayne is survived by his son, Randy McClain and his companion Krista of Savannah, Tennessee; grandchildren, Tyler, Alex, Eli, Noah, Lacy, Southerly, Josh, and Isaiah; great grandchildren, Ella, Eilynn, and Adalynn; and his sister, Barbara McClain Carpenter of Baytown, Texas.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Benny Wayne was preceded in death by his sisters, Inez McClain Moore, Mary Elizabeth McClain, and Roma Dee McClain; and a brother, Elbert McClain.
