BENNY SMITH
Bells, TN: Benny Lynn Smith age 48 passed away Thursday February 20, 2014 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born and reared in Chester County in the Sweet Lips community the son of Johnnie Goodwin Smith and the late Charles Perry Smith. He graduated Chester County High School in 1983. He worked at Murphy Manufacturing, Williams Steel and Owens Corning for nineteen years. He married Kathy Davis of Bells, TN in 2003. They made their home in Bells. Benny was a member of the Sweet Lips Baptist Church. He loved to Grill and Bar-B-Que and loved restoring old cars and trucks.
Benny is survived by his wife, Kathy Davis Smith of Bells; his mother, Johnnie Rhea Goodwin Smith of Henderson; a son, Casey Lynn Smith of Henderson and a stepson, Shanon (Lindsey) Hayes of Bells; two grandchildren, Alexis Williams and Ella Hayes; two brothers, Danny Smith and wife Vicki and Randy Smith and wife Ann all of Henderson; three sisters, Donna Murphy and husband Wendell, Jackie Fletcher and husband Joe and Betty Terry and husband Kenny all of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by a stepson, David Hayes in 2001.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Ronnie Geary officiating and burial will follow in Sweet Lips Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday.
