BERCHIE ANN LUCAS

Henderson, TN: Berchie Ann Keen Lucas age 74, passed away  August 29, 2023, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born February 7, 1949, in Slate Creek, VA, the daughter of the late Clyde Dennis and Susie Mullins Keen. She spent her childhood in West Virginia and Chicago. She married Gerald Lucas on June 24, 1967. They made their home in Chicago until she retired in 2010 and they moved to Henderson.

She worked at Reilly Elementary School from 1986 until 2010 as Food Service Manager.

She loved her siblings her husband, her four beautiful children and grandchildren. She was hospitable and helpful to those in need.

Mrs. Lucas is survived by her husband, Gerald Lucas of Henderson; three sons, Jerone Lucas (Ruby) of Lombard, IL, Adam Lucas (Kelly) of Elk Grove Village, IL and Seth Lucas (Selina) of Henderson and a daughter, Suzanne Smith (Shane) of Grosse Ile, MI; a brother, Danny Keen (Linda) of Chicago, IL; and three sisters, Charlotte Thornsbury (Robert) of Rittman, OH, Violet Kehrig (Dave) of Apple Creek, OH and Annette Snead (Mike “Snead”) of WV.

Mrs. Lucas has six grandchildren, Amanda Podgorski, Nicholas Douzat, Scarlett Lucas, Vivian Lucas, William Smith and Finnegan Smith.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marilyn Ball and Sandra Ball and two brothers, Jerry Keen and Ricky Keen.      

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, September 1^st at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel.

The family will receive friends at East Main 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday.
