Bernice Shaw

Bernice Martin Shaw was born on July 29, 1920 in Wayne County, the daughter of the late James (Jim Pat) Martin and Eula Griggs Martin. She was the wife of the late William "Bill" Shaw. They were married on March 12, 1939. Mr. Shaw preceded her in death on March 11, 1983. She died at her home in Waynesboro Saturday, May 12, 2012. She was retired from Genesco, a former member of West End Home Demonstration Club, and a long time member of First Christian Church.



She is survived by one daughter, Marsha Shaw Russell and husband Math of Columbia, TN. She was the beloved grandmother of William Clark Russell of Waynesboro and Eric Shaw Russell and wife Stephanie of Lebanon, TN;

the great-grandmother of Brittany and Mackenzie Russell of Lebanon, TN. and aunt of Frances White of Nashville. She was preceded in death by one brother, Buford Martin of Waynesboro, TN and a nephew Jay Martin.



Pallbearers are Clark Russell, Eric Russell, Jayson Martin, John Titus, Jimmy Fogg, and Clyde Walker.



Honorary pallbearers are members of First Christian Church, Billy and Hazel Cole, W.J. Shaw, and Shirley Walker;

caregivers, Joy Prince, Laurie Crews, Christy Cotton, Barbara Owens, Natalie Nance, Debbie Gilbert, Becky Brown, Volunteer Home Health staff, and Judy Jones and staff.



Services are scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Burl Graham officiating. Burial will follow in Warren Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.



Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, May 13, 2012 from 5:00-8:00 PM and Monday from 8:00 AM until service time at Shackelford Fuenral Home in Waynesboro.
