Bertha Mae Briggs Steward

Bertha Mae Briggs Steward was born July 5, 1924 in Alcorn County, MS, the daughter of the late Alford Forrest and Martha Magnolia Nelems Briggs. She was united in marriage to Cecil C. Steward on October 24, 1942. Mr. Steward preceded her in death on September 15, 2012. She was a homemaker and a member of the Olive Hill Baptist Church in Guys, TN. She was known as a great quilter and loved her grandchildren. Mrs. Steward departed this life on December 20, 2016 in Ramer, Tennessee at the age of 92 Years, 5 Months, 15 Days.

She is survived by her children: Edna Mae Prather of Selmer, TN, Cecil Ray Steward and wife Kathleen and Martha Evalee Jones and husband John Paul all of Ramer, TN; seven grandchildren: Jere Prather, Jason Whitaker, Jennifer Wilson, Tim Prather, Jesse Steward, Joey Bowen and Jimmy Bowen; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Steward was preceded in death by her siblings: Ora Lee Briggs, Bud Briggs, Clarice Dickey and Joe Neely Briggs.
