Bertha Lee Thornton

Bertha Lee Thornton, age 81 of Bolivar, passed from this life Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.She was born March 25, 1928 in Toone, Tennessee to the late Ernest and Mae Ella Sipes Brooks. She was a lifelong resident of Hardeman County, a housewife and a member of the Church of God.She leaves as her survivors two daughters, Wilma Lee Wilson of Hornsby and Carol Ann Sterling of Somerville; three sons, Joe Thomas Sterling of Toone, John William Sterling of Toone and J. W. Junior Sterling of Gleason; a sister, Emma Sue Peters of Bolivar; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ray Sterling; a sister of Robbie Sue Autlow; and a brother, J. W. Brooks.
