Bertha Nell Woods

Bertha Nell Skelton Woods of Waynesboro was born July 8, 1934 in Waynesboro, TN, the daughter of the late Barney Cleveland and Mary Marie York Skelton. She was married to Hassell Junior Woods and he preceded her in death on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 just prior to her death.

Mrs. Woods was retired from Genesco and was a homemaker and died Wednesday,January 20, 2016 at her home at the age of 81 Years, 6 Months, 12 Days.

Survivors include grandchildren, Kolonda Jones, Koria Johns, Kim Staggs, and Keith Staggs, great-grandchildren, Kenisha Hester, Kenzie Brown, Mason Rhinehart, Dannye Rinehart, Branden Staggs and Barrett Andrew Keith Staggs, a great-great-grandchild, Khloe Staggs, sisters, Ola Hammack and Verna May Hunt both of Waynesboro, TN.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Gail McClain, brothers, Barney Jr. Skelton, Coy Ray Skelton, and Paul Skelton and a sister, Clara Bell Montgomery.

Services will be Sunday, January 24, 2016 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with John Rawdon officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memorial Gardens, Hohenwald, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County, directing.

Visitation will be Sunday, January 24, 2016 from 11:30 am to service time at the funeral home.
