Bessie Marie Goodrum

Bessie Marie Goodrum was born October 15, 1922 in McNairy County, Tennessee the daughter of the late Erby Dillon.Mrs. Goodrum was raised by her late grandparents, former McNairy County Sheriff John Franklin Dillon and his wife Dora. She lived with them from the time she was three weeks old until her marriage to Harvie Estel Goodrum on December 23, 1939. Mr. Goodrum preceded her in death on August 5, 1999, after almost 60 years of marriage. Mrs. Goodrum was a homemaker and a member of the Rose Creek Sanctified church of Christ. She enjoyed the study of genealogy and growing flowers. Mrs. Goodrum departed this life on October 13, 2010 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 11 Months, 28 Days. She is survived by two daughters, Carrie (Goodrum) Bledsoe and husband Robert of Bartlett, TN and Dianna Swanner of Selmer, TN; a grandchild, Lisa Marie Bledsoe of Selmer, TN; a sister, Essie Lou McMahan and husband Barney of Pocahontas, TN; and a host of extended family and friends. In addition to her husband, father, and grandparents, Mrs. Goodrum was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.
