Bethny Noelle Smith age 36, was born June 28, 1980 in Selmer, TN, the only child of Raymond and Mandy Smith. She was a 1998 graduate of McNairy Central High School where she was involved in several clubs and organizations. Bethny was a member of the band beginning at Selmer Middle School and MCHS band member until graduation.
After receiving her BS degree at MTSU in Murfreesboro, TN, Bethny worked for Acceptance Insurance and Hughes and Coleman Law firm as a Senior Legal Assistant until she returned to her home in Selmer. She was employed at Vine and Branches in Selmer in Retail Sales and Merchandising.
Bethny was a member of the First United Methodist Church and was active in the church handbell choir, as well as assisting in other areas of church work. She loved traditional worship, was an avid reader, and had a great passion for art and music of all kinds. She loved people, and did her best to brighten the days of others. She had a contagious smile and twinkling spirit that lit up a room.
Bethny departed this life on November 20, 2016 in Selmer, Tennessee at the age of 36 Years, 4 Months, 23 Days.
She is survived by her parents Raymond and Mandy Smith of Selmer, TN, and her dog and longtime faithful companion of 14 years, Lucy.
In addition to her parents, Bethny is survived by a host of friends and family. Her longtime friends, Lance and Susie King and their two boys, were her family away from home, as well as many others she met through work and her love of music.
