INGRAM, Betty White of Tullahoma, TN, formerly of Murfreesboro, passed away April 4, 2017 at the age of 86.
Mrs. Ingram was born and educated in McNairy Co. TN. During her early life she enjoyed family, church and school activities. Betty graduated from McNairy Co High School where she was valedictorian. Following high school Betty studied in Memphis where she graduated as a medical technologist. She later worked in that capacity in Corinth, MS.
Mrs. Ingram was very dedicated to the work of her churches, First Baptist of Murfreesboro and of Tullahoma. She particularly enjoyed her Sunday School and Bible Study involvement. During her Murfreesboro years, the MTSU Dames Club and Leadership Rutherford County were very important to her. Betty took great pride in being a lifelong Democrat. Painting, gardening, sewing, and jewelry making were among many interests. Betty was well known for her ability to encourage and nurture those around her, especially her boys and their families.
Mrs. Ingram was preceded in death by her parents Dewey Clarence and Bessie Mae White of Michie, TN. She is survived by two sons, Sam W. Ingram and his wife Cindy of Tullahoma and Glenn Ingram and his wife Donna of Franklin, TN. Grandchildren: Allison Brockman (Jason) and Emily Parham (Kevin) all of Tullahoma, Kala Earls (Daniel) of Nolensville and Austin Ingram of Franklin. Great Grandchildren: Chance Brockman, Rusty Brockman, Elizabeth Claire Brockman, Reese Parham, Raegan Brockman, Eli Brockman , and Lucas Earls. She is also survived by a host of friends and other relatives.
Funeral services will be Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home in Selmer, TN with visitation being at 1:00. The service will be led by Brother Joey Johnson of First Baptist Church, Selmer. Pallbearers will be Austin Ingram, Elvis Butler, Brandon Butler, Jason Brockman, Kevin Parham and Daniel Earls. Internment will follow at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery.
