Betty Sue Battleswas born in Hardin County, Tennessee on October 26, 1928 the daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Dollie Smith Hinton.On March 16, 1947 she was united in marriage to Loal Battles, who preceded her in death on April 21, 2002.Mrs. Battles was retired from Angelica Manufacturing were she was a sewing machine operator. She was a lifelong resident of the Walkertown Community and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. She loved her family.Mrs. Battles departed this life on Sunday, December 20, 2009 at the age of 81 years, 1 month, 24 days.She is survived by a daughter, Freeda Gray and husband Eddy of Savannah, Tennessee; a son, Eddie Battles and wife Mary of Savannah, Tennessee; a sister, Callie Qualls of Savannah, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren, Jonathan and Jordan Gray, Brandy Moore, and Allison Battles; 3 great-grandchildren, Sam Gray, Dylan and Mallory Moore.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Alene Adkisson, Pauline Higgins, Hester Lee Scott, Jo Fielder, and Elise Clement; 4 brothers, Otis Hinton, Billy Guy Hinton, William Arthur Hinton, and Bernice Hinton.
