Betty Ruth Claunch

Mrs. Betty Ruth Claunch, age 75 of Oakland, Tennessee, passed from this life Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2016 at NHC Somerville.

A native of Hornsby, Mrs. Claunch was born Tuesday, April 22, 1941 to the late Paul Malcolm Tigner and Eva Lee Cox Tigner Claunch. She attended Fayette County High School, and on Sunday, February 8, 1959, she was united in marriage to Mr. Jimmy Franklin Claunch, who survives. She worked for Carrier - United Technology in the P-Tac department for 19 years. She was a member of the Oakland First Baptist Church and the Oakland Civic Club, and she enjoyed fishing and flowers.

Mrs. Claunch is survived by her husband; daughter, Kathy Maria Suggs of Rossville; sons, Jimmy Lynn Claunch of Cordova, David Glenn Claunch of Horn Lake, Mississippi, and Richard DeWayne Claunch of Gulfport, Mississippi; sister, Linda Mischanko of Portage, Indiana; brother, Jerry Lynn Tigner of Coldwater, Mississippi; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Straight of Hammond, Indiana, who passed away November 29, 2013.
