Betty LaJane Collins

Betty LaJane Collins was born on December 30, 1939 in Hardin County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Therman (Bud) and Annie Belle Monroe Adams. She was united in marriage to Charles Leroy Collins, who preceded his wife in death on October 31, 2004.
Mrs. Collins retired from Valaron GTE Corp., where she had worked as a tool and die maker. She then began to work as a Real Estate agent with Whitten Realty in Savannah, and continued to sell property up until her passing.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Counce, Tennessee, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, and also a member of the Cherokee Organization of Mississippi. In addition to Savannah, Tennessee, Mrs. Collins had also lived in White House, Ohio, Royal Oak, Michigan, and Iuka, Mississippi.
She enjoyed selling real estate, watching QVC, and shopping.
Mrs. Collins departed this life at her residence, surrounded by family and friends on January 17, 2015 at the age of 75 years and 18 days.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa Ann Garland Himmler of Counce, Tennessee; one son, Allan J. Garland of Savannah, Tennessee; two sisters: Charlotte Adams of Counce, Tennessee, and Sarah Whitten of Savannah, Tennessee; two grandchildren: Ashley Garland Devitt and Ryan Himmler; and one great grandchild, Everly Devitt.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, James William and Mattie Whitehurst Adams, and James C. and Clara M. Battles Monroe.
