Betty Sue Cone, a cherished soul and vibrant presence in our lives, was born on August 5, 1945, in McNairy County, TN, to the late Cecil Wright and Wanna Mae Lott Carpenter. Her journey on this earth was one filled with love, laughter, and a profound connection to everyone she met.
On July 20, 1963, Betty was united in marriage with her beloved husband, Keith Cone, marking the beginning of a beautiful partnership that lasted an incredible 62 years. Together, they built a life filled with shared experiences, family bonds, and countless memories.
Betty was not just a private duty sitter; she was a beacon of kindness and compassion, dedicating her time to care for others. Her big personality and zest for life allowed her to connect deeply with those around her. She had an uncanny ability to discover people’s stories, often learning their life journeys long before her appointment was through.
A true lover of literature, Betty found joy in the pages of Harlequin romance novels. She could often be found exploring thrift stores and yard sales, hunting for treasures, especially her beloved rings, which she wore with pride. Betty also had a passion for collecting unique rocks, spending many delightful hours on her quests. Travel with her family and the joy of gospel singings brought her immense happiness.
As a longtime member of Lanes Chapel Church, Betty shared her love for music by singing in the choir, sometimes performing solo. Her voice added warmth to every gathering, a testament to the light she brought into the lives of others.
Betty departed this world on November 20, 2025, in Finger, Tennessee, at the age of 80 years, 3 months, and 15 days. She leaves behind her devoted husband, Keith, and their loving family: daughter, Regina Suzanne Chandler and her husband Jeremy of Jackson, TN; son, Brian Keith Cone and partner Jaclyn Edwards of Selmer, TN; three adoring grandchildren, Briley Miller, Wynter Miller, and Gracie Elizabeth Cone; and a great-grandson, John Baker Sells. She is also survived by her sister, Phyllis Finley of Michie, TN, along with numerous extended family and friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Betty is preceded in death by her grandson, Jimmy Lee Miller; her brother, Cecil Ernest Carpenter; and two infant brothers.
As we celebrate the remarkable life of Betty Sue Cone, may we remember the joy she brought to our lives and carry forward her spirit of compassion and connection. She will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered.
