Betty Stewart Davis

Betty Stewart Davis, age 88, of Toone, departed this life on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was born on July 30, 1934, in Brownsville, TN to the late Johnny Eugene Stewart and Olive Mable Betts Stewart and lived most all of her life in Hardeman County.  On July 10, 1954, she was united in marriage to Mr. Edward Davis.  At the time of his passing on December 7, 1985, they had been married 31 years.

She was a retired assistant librarian for the Hardeman County Library and a homemaker.  A faithful member of Toone Baptist Church for 57 years, Mrs. Davis had enjoyed serving her church family as a Sunday School teacher.  In her leisure, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, cooking, gardening, and her family.

She leaves a daughter, Suzan Lasley (Ronnie) of Jackson; two sons, Randy Davis (Barbara) of Hammond, LA and Jeffrey Davis (Beth) of Toone; a sister, Barbara Payton of Jackson; and a brother, Jack Stewart (Pat) of Corinth, MS; six grandchildren, Jessica Bryan (David), Daniel Davis (Catherine), Joseph Lasley (Melissa), John Lasley (Erica), Jonathan Davis and Amanda Davis and eight great grandchildren.
