Betty Frances (Granny) Staggs Garrett of Waynesboro, TN was born September 21, 1948 in Waynesboro, Tennessee, the daughter of Gladys Marie Ray Staggs Sherrill of Clifton, TN who survives and the late Taylor Edna Staggs. She was united in marriage to Robert Andrew Garrett on July 24, 1965 and he preceded her in death on January 2, 2003.
Mrs. Garrett was a retired machine operator from Texas Boot, was of the Baptist faith, and was co-operator of Nanny's and Granny's T's in Waynesboro, TN.
Mrs. Garrett departed this life on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee at the age of 63 Years.
Other than her mother, she is survived by a daughter, Vickie Morrow and husband, Chris of Waynesboro, TN; sons, Michael Garrett and wife, Lisa. Robert (Buddy) Garrett and wife, Tera, and Daniel Garrett all of Waynesboro, TN, Nathan Garrett and wife, Renea of Marvel, AR, Scottie Garrett and wife, Tracy of Florence, AL; grandchildren, Erik, Vanessa, and Channing Morrow, Virginia, Nikki, Stetson, Coty, Cameron, Leah, and McKayla Garrett; great-grandchildren, Cameron and Gabe Lovett, Hinder Morrow, and Bree and Chanston Griggs; six step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild; a brother, John Elbert Staggs and wife, Diane of Clifton, TN; sisters, Freddie Gray and Shirley Morrow and husband, Junior all of Waynesboro, TN, Glenda Ponds and husband, Wayne of Adamsville, TN, Mary Copeland and husband, Danny of Savannah, TN, Faye Greer of Clifton, TN; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. Garrett was preceded in death by
her step-father, Roy D. Sherrill; and brother, Samuel Taylor (Bodie) Staggs.
Services will be on Friday, September 23, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Waynesboro, Tennessee, with John McDonald and Roseann Teeftaller officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lawrenceburg Highway.
