BETTY WHITE GEAN
was born in Lutts, Tennessee on December 6, 1931 the daughter of the late Nick Curtis and Grethel Lucile Cossey White.
On August 21, 1948 she was united in marriage to George W. Gean, who preceded his wife in death on October 14, 2004.
Mrs. Gean was a retired CNA for Osteopathic Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. She lived in Savannah, Tennessee from 1931 to 1953, where she was a member of the Savannah Church of Christ. She then moved to South Bend, Indiana, where she lived from 1953 to 1987 and was a member of Donmoyer Church of Christ and was also a member of Mishawka Church of Christ in Mishawka, Indiana. Mrs. Gean moved to Jupiter, Florida and lived there from 1987 to 1991 and attended Jupiter Church of Christ. After leaving Florida she retired to Savannah in which she lived from 1991 to 2015. Mrs. Gean moved to Annapolis, Maryland in 2015 to live until her death on June 17, 2016.
Mrs. Gean loved her family and was a devoted wife and loving mother. She loved being with her friends, worshipping at church, playing piano, singing gospel hymns with family and anything to do with helping people. Mrs. Gean also enjoyed sewing, bowling, reading, traveling and she enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs Baseball team.
She departed this life on June 17, 2016 in Annapolis, Maryland at the age of 84 years, 6 months and 11 days.
Mrs. Gean is survived by her two sons, Fred G. Gean of Middlebury, Florida and Ted L. Gean of Upper Marlboro, Maryland
two grandchildren, Heather Angel Rogers of Upper Marlboro, Maryland and Tad P. Gean of Catonsville, Maryland
two sisters, Devora Kilburn of Osceola, Indiana and Robbie Prince of Savannah, Tennessee
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Rebeca (Becky) Wright and three brothers, Willie Earl White, Curtis White and Vernie Ray White.
