BETTY HINKLE

Pinson, TN: Betty Lou Cupples Hinkle age 84, passed away February 25,2023 at her home.

She was born August 20, 1938 in Pinson, TN, the daughter of the late James Otis and Gladys Lee Plunk Cupples. She grew up in Pinson . She worked for International Paper in Jackson for many years retiring in the early 1980’s.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as “Granny”.

She enjoyed traveling and going on cruises. She liked raising flowers.

Mrs. Hinkle is survived by her husband, Sherman Lewis Hinkle of Pinson; two sons, John Smrt (Rebecca) of Bartlett and James Frye (Wendy) of Pinson; three daughters, Cindy Smrt of Carrollton, TX, Sandy Whitaker of Pinson and Debby Scott (Jerry) of Pinson; eight grandchildren, Gunnar Scott (Ana), Tyler Smrt (Kim), Jack Smrt, Robby Frye, Randy Frye (Miranda), Sara Templeton, Hannah Whitaker and Heather Whitaker; eight great grandchildren and one on the way; a brother, Jerry Cupples of Jackson and two sisters, Shirley Mack and Mary Schroeder both of Arizona.

Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, March 2^nd at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Thursday.
