Betty Sue McCormick Hughes was born December 16, 1935 in McNairy County, TN the daughter of the late Lyman and Edna Keen McCormick.
She was united in marriage to Floyd Lendon Hughes on June 29, 1956. Mr. Hughes preceded her in death on November 21, 2017.
Mrs. Hughes worked for many years at Garan Manufacturing and Shiloh Sportswear. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Adamsville, Tennessee.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her smile could light up a room, her warm personality sparked many friendships, and her cooking some of the best around. She was known in her family for her cat head biscuits. She always enjoyed family reunions and class reunions. In school she played basketball and enjoyed most sports.
Mrs. Hughes departed this life on May 4, 2020 in Adamsville, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 4 Months, 18 Days. She is survived by a son, Teddy Hughes and wife Cindy of Adamsville, TN; four sisters, Ava Nixon and husband Virgil, Linda Scott and husband Jerry, Patsy Dickerson, Shelia Smith and husband Mike all of Adamsville, TN; four brothers, Leon McCormick and wife Wanda of Adamsville, TN, Larry McCormick of Adamsville, TN, Jerald McCormick and wife Donna of Houston, TX, Mike McCormick of Adamsville, TN; two grandchildren, Fahren Choate and husband Brandon of Michie, TN, Daniel Hughes of Adamsville, TN; four great grandchildren, Linkoln Hughes, Anniston Choate, Lawsyn Hughes, and Maddux Choate; and a host of extended family and friends.
Memorial service will be scheduled for the fall of 2020.
