BETTY EVANS DAVIS

 Lakeland, TN: Betty Jean Evans Davis age 87 passed away September 12, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis.

She was born August 30, 1937, at Leapwood, TN in McNairy County, the daughter of the late Donnie Guy Evans and Zera Irene Dallas Evans. She graduated from Adamsville High School in 1955 and Business College in Memphis. She married Roy Davis in 1965 and lived most of their married life in Memphis. She worked at Fred P. Gattas on Summer Avenue for nineteen years and later as a sales associate at Stein Mart.

She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church at Bartlett. She loved her church and her family.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her son, John Raymond Davis of Lakeland, TN; three grandchildren, Hannah Grace Davis, Rachel Reese Davis and Olivia Rae Davis.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Roy Raymond Davis (2011), a son, Richard Allen Davis (2020); two brothers, Cecil Ray Evans and Elwood Evans and three sisters, Willie Opal Canaday, Graple Arlene Woodward and Cora Faye Martin.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 17th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Randy Mead officiating. Burial will follow at Milledgeville Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM service time Tuesday.
